Special Olympics Nova Scotia is getting ready to jump off the starting block and we need your help!
On Sunday, May 19th , the 10th Annual Scotiabank Blue Nose Marathon will be taking place in the streets of Halifax. As a participant of the Charity Challenge, we are excited about taking part this year and are seeking your support.
Did you know that the majority of our funds raised are through private donations and sponsorships? Special Olympics Nova Scotia receives only a small portion of our funds through our government. The remainder we must fundraise. We do this through events such as this!
You do not need to be a runner to take part, you simply have to have a desire to want to help us support our athletes!
So how do you help?
Participants register in the event of their choice (5k, 10k, Half Marathon, or Full Marathon), then choose to participate in the “Charity Challenge” where you ask friends, family, co-workers, strangers on the street (well maybe not…) to pledge an amount to your efforts.
This is a wonderful way to motivate you to complete that first 5k, 10k, Half or Full, that you have always thought about doing…or maybe never thought about doing!
You will be linked to a community of like minded people all raising money for our courageous athletes.
It is easy. It is fun. And …it is a great way to support your community and help out someone who could use a little support!
